Officials said Stephen Melton worked as a pastor at the Big Spring Presbyterian Church, during which he met up with a prostitute multiple times a week for over a year.

According to authorities, Melton confessed to paying for sexual acts on numerous occasions. He told investigators he frequented one of the massage parlors, GL Massage in Carlisle, because it was conveniently located on his route home.

Role at the Church: Melton became a pastor at Big Spring Presbyterian Church in October 2022. After his arrest in November 2024, his relationship with the church ended. He officially retired as a minister with the Presbyterian Church USA in January 2025.
