A former Christian pastor will spend up to two decades in prison after admitting to sexually abusing a child for years. George Bell, 73, pleaded guilty on Nov. 5 to two counts of rape before Franklin County Common Pleas Court Judge Jeff Brown, who sentenced Bell to 15 to 20 years in prison.

Yet another Baptist church in peril. Every week multiple Baptist pastors are either sentenced or arrested for sexual abuse of children. This week, George Bell was sentenced to likely spend the rest of his life in prison for the assault of a child over several years. Bell admitted and pleaded guilty of the crime.
The church Bell founded and pastored was the Anchor Baptist Church in Ohio. The church has no reference to the previous pastor, however it can still be found through online archives. The following is an archived page from their website, for George Bell: https://web.archive.org/web/20240620164226/https://www.anchorcolumbus.com/our-history/pages/our-pastor
I feel I need to make a public service announcement. Look at this site. Look at how many Baptist and Evangelical pastors are arrested for allegedly molesting children, EACH week. Look at how many are sentenced after admitting their crimes, or being found guilty of their crimes. Even Donald Trump’s professed prayer partner, Robert Morris has fallen into this category.
Why are we, as a society, pretending the offenders are the outsiders, the immigrants? Do we really have blinders this bad that we ignore the weekly arrests and sentencing of Baptist and Evangelical pastors? Maybe we can paraphrase Donald Trump and change the topic a bit to read, “The Christian church isn’t sending you their best, they are sending rapists, molesters and some, I assume, are good people.”
