Pinkerton was a youth pastor of Central Christian Church in Baltimore during the alleged crimes. In total, 7 men have come forward regarding their abuses. The location of abuses ranges from Maryland to Georgia.

Central Christian Church

The church took steps forward to address the issue, releasing the following press statement:

The church doesn’t broadcast any specific denomination, and a bit of digging appears to show the church is a non-denominational Christian church based in the “Restoration Movement.”

Core Principles

  • Unity in Christ: The movement’s central aim was to create one church, free from the divisiveness of denominational creeds and traditions.
  • Bible as the Only Guide: Proponents advocated for the Bible, and specifically the New Testament, as the sole source of religious authority and the blueprint for church life and worship.
  • Abandonment of Creeds: Leaders believed that human-made creeds created unnecessary division and that Christians could find common ground by simply adhering to biblical teachings.
  • Biblical Names: The goal was to use only biblical names for congregations, such as “Christian Church” or “Church of Christ,” to avoid sectarian labels.
