Joshua Kemper

An Assemblies of God pastor in a remote central California town was arrested last week for allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl. Joshua Kemper, the lead pastor at Foothill Church in Coarsegold, California, faces 14 felony charges for his alleged sexual abuse against the minor. Madera County police said that Kemper had a “relationship” with the victim from March through July of this year, according to their statement posted on Facebook last Thursday.

Looking into the church, sadly it is simply hiding the fact that Kemper was arrested. Any organization that has a leader arrested should publish a statement or press release to make everyone aware of the situation – it’s good to do for safety and security.

However, most churches will scrub the alleged offender from the website and pretend it never happened. When people pretend events like this didn’t happen, they simply occur again and again.

While the official site no longer lists Joshua Kemper as the pastor https://www.foothillcc.org/about-us :

Yet using snapshot sites, like Archive.org (Wayback machine) we can see that in 2024 the site was archived and snapshot with Joshua Kemper’s identity as “Lead Pastor.”
