Donald Aaron Axtell, a former Associate Youth Pastor, has been charged with felony second-degree statutory rape, possession of child pornography, and furnishing pornographic material to a minor.

The Baptist church, Excelsior Springs Baptist Church, is  in the spotlight of an arrest of leadership for child sex crime. The Missouri based Baptist church is said to be re-evaluating it’s screening practices after the alleged crimes were reported.

The church released a statement which reads in part:
