Kevin Mills, a former associate pastor and gospel singer with ties to Portage la Prairie, has been sentenced to prison in Washington state after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a child….. Court documents show that on April 18, 2023, Mills and his wife disclosed the assault to a pastor at Rochester Life Assembly of God. The pastor did not report the disclosure to law enforcement. The case came to authorities more than a year later, after a friend of Mills’ wife, who was also his business partner, reported the abuse on May 21, 2024.

The non-reporting is a repetitive issue that comes up time and again. In this case an Assemblies of God pastor reportedly heard his confession but refused to inform the police, perhaps under the impression that Mills was reformed. Just another case of Christianity leaving a trail of tears behind forgiven actions.

This particular crime occurred in the United States and while Mills was living in Canada, he was extradited and found guilty. He is now serving his time in Washington State prison.
