Matthew Masiewicz

Matthew Masiewicz, 53, was taken into custody at his home Tuesday, according to police. He was the senior pastor at Sovereign Grace Fellowship, a church that’s part of the Reformed Baptist Network. The church said it removed Masiewicz from his position as soon as learning of the charges.

The charges against Masiewicz came from an anonymous tip, which led to the discovery of alleged child pornography in his possession. He is accused of having and distributing child pornography, which also included the use of AI generated child pornography.

When Walker interviewed Masiewicz, she stated in the affidavit, he originally denied any knowledge of the material. But after she told him what was found, “he stood up abruptly, turned around, put his hands behind his back and stated, ‘I’m going to own this,’” according to the affidavit.

Masiewicz denied having physical contact with any children but admitted to using AI to alter images to create child pornography, the affidavit said.

Sovereign Grace Fellowship

The church website: https://sovereigngracefellowship.org proclaims they have a mission to spread an evangelical message. The church itself is a Baptist denomination and operates out of Nampa Idaho.

I took a bit of time to look at the church. It didn’t take long to see a whole video series on YouTube where the church leader himself is talking about the tactics to get converts. Here’s one such recording:

In the video above, he points out the other religions pictured (including Buddhism) are just “stories” unlike his unique “Truth” of Christianity. It’s so frustrating to hear this rhetoric when it is coming from someone admitting to having and distributing child porn.
